Cockroaches have a negative connotation as they are mostly related with unkempt and unsanitary conditions. While this is sometimes true, it also is not always true.
If you are noticing Cockroaches in your home, that does not mean you have a dirty home. Some Cockroaches are just in close enough proximity to you that they find their way inside.
The most common Cockroaches are the German Cockroach and American Cockroach. They can grow up to four or five inches long and are shades of Brown, Black, and a little Red.
You might immediately confuse a Cockroach for a Beetle but upon a closer look, you will see you may have a Cockroach problem.
Cockroaches, like humans, need food, water, and shelter. You home may provide all three in the cabinets, sinks, or bathtubs of your home which is why they chose your home to live in.
You may also live in an area with multiple garbage cans outside which can entice Cockroaches for food. They might easily be crawling around nearby at night without much notice.
While Cockroaches do not mean you have an unsanitary home, they are carriers of diseases due to the unsanitary conditions they may have come from such as garbage and other locations.
Any Cockroach who may walk over your food in a cabinet or be near your sink in which you brush your teeth can transmit diseases to you and your family.
Cockroaches also do not hang alone so if you see one, there are probably more living somewhere in your home.
A Cockroach exterminator can look at potential access points for the Cockroaches living in your home and find others you may not have seen yet. This can begin the process of eliminating Cockroaches from your home.
