See a critter with a lot of legs crawling up your walls? It may be a Millipede.
Millipedes do not actually have a thousand legs and may only have less than one hundred–a little confusing, right?
Typically, Millipedes will come in shades of Brown or Grey and will grow to be about two to three inches, at most.
If you are seeing multiple Millipedes on your walls outside, in the grass, or even outside your home, you need to address the problem.
Weather patterns and temperature changes can drive Millipedes inside your home. Due to their very small size, they can easily enter through small cracks in the foundation or other entry-points. For those Millipedes outside, hiding in the grass is a way to keep cool as well.
If you have a yard or even a damp area in your home to keep cool, Millipedes may be coming in and drawn to those areas.
Unlike Centipedes, Millipedes will not bite or cause any physical harm. But, the abundance of Millipedes can become unsightly for your home and yard.
Millipedes will come in the hundreds or even thousands during an infestation so calling a Millipede exterminator to treat your home and yard–as well as addressing where Millipedes are entering from can help prevent any further problems from the infestation.
