Beyond other pests, Rats can be some of the most feared of the Rodent collection.
Ranging in a size larger than other Rodents, such as Mice or Voles, Rats are shades of Black, Brown or Grey. They will grow to be over six or seven inches in size.
Signs you may have a Rat problem are droppings, visually seeing a Rat or two, hearing scratching noises in the walls, or even seeing wood chewed on in or around your home.
Rats need a place to nest and your home is probably the perfect temperature and spot to give birth.
Rats may use paper from your home for a nest and may use the wooden infrastructure of your home to gnaw on to keep their teeth ground down.
The biggest threat homeowners have when a Rat infestation is occurring is the size of the problem. Rats can give birth very rapidly, like other Rodents, and a couple of Rats can turn into hundreds in little to no time.
Rats also carry diseases such as Rabies. Pests on them may also cause problems such as Fleas and Ticks which could become their own infestations on top of the Rat problem.
Many Rats means droppings and urine which can make humans and household pets sick if ingested. It is imperative you call a Rat exterminator to come to your home and eliminate both the nest and adult Rats before the problem becomes a health hazard.
